How to Become a Book Critic by Steven D.

Being a book critic for a living? Why not? The premise might be deemed somewhat bombastic at a glance. But, when one dares to take it into his or her serious consideration, it can be true. One may take it as the serious pathway to follow as a promising career.  Tons of magazines, newspaper, tabloids are loaded up in many newsstands. Millions of books are stacked on the book shop queuing for display to grab the book lover’s attention.  Hundreds or maybe thousands publishing houses are lining up to strive for their best with their publication. Not to mention, digital media, website, blogs, are of the instances of the digitalized display of abundant information. With the thousands or maybe billion readers around the globe, those media and information need a connecting line. A book critic, among the other things, can serve as the connecting line who gives proper information to any reader that wants to dig ditches of information.
Being an intelligent connecting line, a book critic should have analytical, critical, and even skeptical competences.  She or he must not only read books with like or dislike judgment. Above all, a book critic should provide comprehensive overview of a book including the positive sides, setbacks, and recommendation.  A book critic, in a way, could serve as an intellectual marketer who benefits the publisher or writer.
Flipping through pages of books, articles are subsequently recommended. Going to bookshop frequently, surfing through the internet in search of online publishing house or online bookshop are the best way to get prey for review. Contacting publisher or authors must be a highly appreciated advantage to book critic. Start from small before targeting large preys. It means that you can start publish your review from  local paper or small publishing house for small fee or even free until people gives you recognition as a book review specialist. It takes persistence and consistence to gain honest credit as book critic. Markets are still waiting for your expertise, I am sure.
